    Comments:

I'm really impressed with this bike rack. It took sometime to install it initially as we took someone else's advice and used gaffa tape to protect the paintwork where the hooks attach. But once we had the bike on and tightened the straps, it looked good. I was a little nervous driving for the first time (I live in the hills, lots of windy roads and pot holes) but the bike was SOLID on the back of the car. It did not move. I attached it to my Skoda Yeti and it fit perfectly (but don't forget to turn off your automatic rear window wipers!).

I've only used this once on about a 15 mile drive, so I cannot really judge yet, except that my bike, car and person arrived to the destination without a problem. Installation was easy and the contraption seems sturdy. I travel a lot and it seems that this is lightweight enough to pack in my suitcase and to use on a rental car when i go to a new destination with my bike. Pretty happy so far!

Have only used it 4 times so far but fear ir will not hold up. Plastic straps seem hard to operate and I fear they may break

          Comments:

I bought this to mix my commute between bike and car but every time (~6 trips) I have attached my road bike to the car via the Solo, it has never seemed very secure. I've tighten the straps but every journey I'm watching the bike in the rear view mirror inch slowly down the window. The feet don't seem very "tacky" which I feel would improve the grip somewhat. It was fairly cheap in comparison to other racks but I think for peace of mind I'd be tempted to look at something more sturdy

I bought this rack for a Mini Cooper and like it was a small car and I'll be only transporting my enduro bike (it weights 34lb) I get this single bike rack. The installation process is dead easy, I've use Thule and other Saris products and non could match the Solo easy installation. It holds the bike pretty well but you've to be aware the pedals don't have direct contact with your hatch, otherwise you'll have some serious scratches. So far so good, no problems with the bike rack. I only have to complains with it: 1. Like my bike it's heavy, it rattles a lot and if you don't tight it up, you'll go really scare and 2. The bottom supports (the ones that goes in the metal and not the glass) hasn't scratched the paint but you can totally tell they were there I recommend it anyway if you're a solo rider and if you've a light bike and small car

Great rack, but one small problem...

              Comments:

I bought this rack for my 2005 Scion xB. Wanting to center the rack on the hatch, I mounted it so that the two upper contacts were on the rear window and the two lower contacts were between the rear wiper and the license plate. To what I attribute to the effect of having no side straps to prevent lateral movement, the lower contacts have created marks on the paint that I going to try and buff out. I was hesitant to mount the racks will all four contact on the rear glass, but I don't want any further damage to the paint. I use the rack for my carbon fiber road bike so I don think the weight should be an issue. My main hesitation is that the rack does bounce a bit on uneven roads and potholes that I try my best to avoid, but not all are avoidable, and I don't want to risk breaking the rear window. For that reason, I give the Solo 2 stars.
