Rides and Events
Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Many rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there — and have fun! Just Ride!
All of our rides attempt to operate like the bell curve you may remember from school. The fastest riders may find the ride a little too slow and not challenging enough and the slowest riders may find themselves pushed extremely hard and potentially beyond their current fitness level--but for the majority of the riders the ride should be just perfect. If you are on the ends of the curve, please check out one of our slower or faster group rides. Most of our rides are designed as "No Drop" rides, meaning that the ride leader will make sure that everyone that starts the ride gets back to the start location without being "dropped" off the back of the ride and left to find their own way home.
We are here to have fun and share our love for cycling. All rides will emphasize safe group riding and respect for motorists and other bicyclists. Ride distances tend to be shorter during the early and late seasons and longer during the summer.
Gung Ho Bikes Ride Cancellation Policy - If one hour before a scheduled ride, the official weather report for the ride start area predicts rain, lightning or strong winds, the ride will be canceled. If you are in doubt, please call the shop at 717-852-9553. Ride leaders will also post any ride cancellations on Facebook on Gung Ho Cycling Community page.
